I love to paint, I love the challenge. I struggle with every piece, mixing paint right on the canvas, using charcoal and scratching to make line, creating images and then destroying them. Sometimes I am satisfied with the outcome quickly and sometimes never. Painting allows me to express my emotions and or the emotions I choose to explore. My goal is for these emotions to be captured by the images I create. Sometimes those images are abstract, sometimes figures without facial features. Facial features only capture outward appearance and not what lies behind the visual form. I prefer my paintings be completed (or the facial features be provided) by the artist within those who observe my paintings.
I am inspired by artists such as as Nathan Oliviera, Antoni Tapies, Franz Kline and Basquiat.
